Responsible Gambling Trust donated with £46,000 by gambling industry volunteers
A group of volunteers representing gambling companies organised a fund-rising trek across the Great Wall of China to support the Responsible Gambling Trust (RGT). It is the third time that the event takes place, and this year, the participants raised £46,608. From all the expeditions together, more than £170,000 were collected to help minimise gambling-related harm in Britain.
In 6 days, 28 trekkers from the Bingo Association, Coronet Bingo Club, Coral Racing, Genting UK, Global Draw Limited and William Hill experienced the adventure with RGT chief executive Marc Etches.
In February next year, the fund-rising event which is already being prepared, will get even more exciting, when the volunteers will attempt to reach the summit o Mount Kilimanjaro.
Chief Executive of the Responsible Gambling Trust, Marc Etches, said:
“The Great Wall of China Challenge and next year’s ascent of Kilimanjaro help to raise money which will make a real difference to the lives of those assisted by the work of the Responsible Gambling Trust to minimise gambling-related harm. I was amongst the team who climbed to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro for the Responsible Gambling Trust’s first fundraising expedition in 2013 and it was a truly inspiring and unforgettable challenge. I would encourage anybody who is up for the adventure to get in touch.”
