Racing Post and Racing.com seal content sharing deal

Content sharing agreement will cover thoroughbred racing

Racing.com and Racing Post have entered a content sharing arrangement around feature events, giving racing fans the best available coverage of thoroughbred racing from around the world.

The content sharing agreement will begin on 1st June 2018 and will enable written stories and video features aligned with major racing, breeding, and thoroughbred sales events to be shared between Racing.com and Racing Post across their digital platforms. This will include the sharing of content during the feature European summer flat racing period and winter jumps period, Australia’s major racing carnivals including the spring and autumn, and significant thoroughbred sales in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.

Racing.com CEO Andrew Catterall said: “There is such a strong link between Australian and European racing, particularly with the UK and Ireland. We have seen over the years some of our best horses compete over there and many of their best at our carnivals, to share content around these feature events is relevant to our audiences. Racing Post is world leaders and we look forward to working with them.”

Racing Post Managing Editor Tony Smurthwaite said: “The opportunity to be partners with the excellent team at Racing.com is too good to miss. We look forward to a fruitful and lasting relationship as well as giving readers across all of our products a richer experience of racing and bloodstock issues in Australia and New Zealand.”

Racing Post began as a print publication in Britain before launching its first digital platform in 1997. Racing Post is now a leading digital publisher with an innovative mobile app and fully responsive website – racingpost.com, as well an expanding business-to-business division which develops content and products for a range of domestic and international partners.

While providing detailed racing form for UK and Irish thoroughbred racing, Racing Post has an extensive news service that covers Europe, the United States, and other major racing jurisdictions. Racing Post acquired ANZ Bloodstock News in 2017 to add to its coverage of racing and bloodstock from around the globe. Racing Post also recently announced the addition of Full Form for horseracing to the popular Racing Post Touch product.

Racing.com launched in 2014 as the Victorian thoroughbred industry owned digital media platform, before becoming the media rights holder for Victorian thoroughbred racing in 2015 through the broadcast of racing on Australian Free-To-Air channels 78 (metropolitan) and 68 (regional), Foxtel 529 & the Racing.com digital platform.

Since then, Racing.com has become the media rights holder for South Australian thoroughbred racing and also broadcasts Hong Kong and other selected feature international racing events on its Free-To-Air channels throughout the year, with form, news and features created for broadcast, digital and social media channels.
