PayPal to re-enter U.S. online gambling market
PayPal, one of the biggest online payment company, is quietly re-entering the U.S. igaming market. The process started in Nevada and is said to extend on New Jersey, where 17 igaming websites are situated. The first USA-based online gambling company that started to use the online payment platform within its services, is Caesars Entertainment (Nevada). The cooperation commenced last week.
The last time PayPal was trying to approach US Internet gambling market, was in 2002.
Seth Palansky, vice president of Caesar’s corporate communications confirmed, that the deal was closed. “We know they are a familiar and trusted payment resource and expect it to be additive to our offerings”, Palansky comments.
PayPal’s second try on entering the American market saw the light of day last year, when gaming authorities from Nevada and New Jersey confirmed that the talks were ongoing.
The company is now permitted by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) to cooperate with casinos based in Atlantic City.
As for now, neither PayPal nor the New Jersey DGE commented on the coverage.
