Interview with Virtus Sports Startup
SiGMA met the participants of SiGMA 2017 Startup Pitch, Virtus Sports
Virtus Sports is a company focusing on sports betting and virtual sports, and is one of the startups taking part in SiGMA Startup Pitch. Virtus Sports offers a complete service to customers in virtual sport events and number games on online, in-venue, mobile, TV and terminals. The company creates all software, systems and artistic material constantly developing our solutions as the market evolves.
What is your company’s unique differentiating idea?
Virtus arrives into a highly competitive industry segment with a new and modern take on virtual sports. Their origins in land based betting has led to a streamlined and low bandwidth product that competes on quality with the large providers. With a small team that Virtus has, it created 10 virtual sports so far, including live virtuals, with a plan to add a new sport every 3 months. This is something no-one else can achieve.
What differentiates you from your competitors? Specifically, what do you provide that is currently not available in the market or how do you differ from your competitors?
Other providers offer a static “me-too” commoditised solution. Virtus offers a product that can cheaply be personalised and customised, so operators can stamp their own brand into the games with unique stadiums and tracks, brand ambassadors in-game, and schedules that can be localised down to every shop or online channel.
We are competing on price, quality and depth of product, low cost of install and operations, and customisation. Our strategy is paying off as we win distribution deals and are ready to go live in Europe and Africa already. We have achieved this with a very small team and are excited to scale with the right investor, and gain significant market share.
What milestones or tangible traction have you achieved to date?
Signed distribution deals with both B2C and B2B partners across both online and offline. We will be live with our first partners within weeks.
Please explain your objectives for participating in SiGMA Pitch Event.
We see Malta as a key jurisdiction for us. SiGMA enables us to reach potential investors and customers and we are excited to be a part of such a prestigious event.
