Phil Satre resigns as IGT chairman to become vice-chairman at Wynn Resorts

Lorenzo Pellicioli, vice chairman of IGT, will be spearheading the board until its next meeting when it will elect a new chairman. Commenting on the development, Pellicioli said: “On behalf of the board, I want to thank Phil for his dedicated service and many important contributions.”

Phil Satre resigned from his chairman position at IGT, to become vice-chairman at Wynn Resorts.

“He successfully guided the company through a transformational merger that created the largest gaming company in the world. We wish him continued success as he takes on a new role at Wynn Resorts.”

D Boone Wayson, presently the board chairman at Wynn Resorts, also announced that he will be stepping down as chairman at the end of this year, but will continue to serve as a board member. The board plans to appoint Satre to succeed Wayson as chairman.

Satre, president of the National Centre for Responsible Gaming, served in various leadership roles in the gaming industry for more than 25 years, including chairman and CEO of Harrah’s Entertainment. He has been granted a number of accolades, including his election to the American Gaming Association’s Hall of Fame.
