GIG’s iGaming Cloud welcomes new Chief Data Officer Aaron Xuereb
Gambling solutions and interactive entertainment provider Gaming Innovation Group Inc (GIG) is thrilled to announce the newest addition to their iGaming Cloud team, Aaron Xuereb.
Aaron comes on as Chief Data Officer in Malta and will be responsible for the long-term development and optimisation of iGC’c data infrastructure as well as to secure the best user experience for all their partners.
Aaron’s background includes a BSc in Business and Computing graduating in the year 2000 and went on to work for a German software house Page One AG as a Software Developer. Here, Aaron was introduced to iGaming and he was part of a team that developed a full front-end for a German bookmaker that was eager to transition their business online.
The next 17 years saw Aaron moving up in the industry with dedication and diligence while enhancing his expertise in the different positions. His impressive CV includes being a Developer at Methode Electronics where he worked his way up to Head of Information systems and gained valuable knowledge in Data Warehousing/business Intelligence Fields.
Aaron then joined Nordic Gaming Group (NGG) in 2011 where he assisted in developing a cutting edge Data-warehouse with real-time data capabilities. Later in 2013, when NGG was acquired by Betsson, Aaron moved into a Head of Business Intelligence role in the Betsson Group.
iGC’s vision is to build a high-performance data team, that works in synergy with all central functions and partners to provide valuable and reliable reporting data in real time.
The new Chief Data Officer main responsibilities will be to define both the short and long term strategies for execution of this vision along with bringing about the vision of making the iGaming industry lean. His vision is one of a Data Platform capable of delivering the right data, at the right time, in the right format with perfect quality.
“We know what operators need to successfully run their businesses. Unfortunately, many businesses limit themselves by focusing too much on Descriptive Analytics, that istraditional revenue and customer activity reports that answer the question; what happened?” Says Aaron.
“The power of data is most evident when you are able to forecast the future (Predictive Analysis) or even better being able to change it in a positive way (Perspective Analytics). This is what we are aiming for” he adds ” “It only took a couple of meetings with Robin (Group CEO), Ben (MD for iGC) and Mike (Group CTO) before I was convinced that iGC was where I wanted to work next.” He smiles and adds “I am really impressed with the talent, passion and dedication of the people working here and how fast this company has grown in such a short time.”
