Gaming Standards Association (GSA) to open headquarters in Malta
The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) is an international non-profit association dedicated to the development of open standards for the gaming industry world-wide. Founded 18 years ago, it has helped increase transparency, accountability and interoperability enabling innovation through standardisation.
Now GSA has embarked on a new vision – to create a European foundation with online gaming standards as its main objective. Earlier this year the Board of Directors selected Malta to be the headquarters for GSA Europe. GSA Europe has been focusing on the online gaming sector working with members to develop standards framework. GSA Europe has also met with European regulatory entities engaging in discussions on how it can help support ongoing standardisation efforts at the European Commission and the European Committee for Standarisation level.
We believe that GSA Europe is an important element in the Maltese gaming industry. It brings a new level of quality to the sector. GSA Europe standard framework shall serve as a catalyst to bring actual R&D in gaming Malta. In addition, the co-ordination of standards framework RD will be carried out from Malta.
GSA Europe’s first launch of its Malta Office a the Malta Digital Hub will be held on 14th June. The open house is an informal setting for those in the online gaming sector to learn about GSA from its President, Mr. Peter DeRaedt, GSA Europe’s Managing Director, Mark Pace, both of whom are also GSA Europe founders, along with co-founder Mario Galea, former Chief Executive and Chairman of the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority, and several GSA Board of Director members.
The MGA’s Executive Chairman, Joseph Cuschieri, will address the guests during event.
