Career Opportunities in the Billion Dollar Gambling Industry
The gambling industry
The art of gambling is forever growing in popularity and more customers mean not only more revenue but also more opportunities, hence, gambling really is big business. And because the industry is growing in popularity and forever opening up new opportunities, more man power is needed, thus the gambling industry is helping to generate more jobs. Not only does the gambling industry create jobs for casino dealers, waiters, bosses, cleaners, security etc. but as the online market continues to expand, more employment opportunities are rising. We listed some of the job categories:
A casino host’s entire job is to get customers to spend even more money than they planned on gambling. Working as a casino host is among the more glamorous of industry jobs. From greeting VIPs at the door to pampering regular with special offers, to camping and restaurant reservations, the host does it all. Casino hosts are beautiful, smiling, professional people who make it their job to satisfy every customer need.
Dealers work on casino floors, operating table games. They generally stand or sit at the tables, dispensing cards, chips, or other props to players, or operating gaming equipment. Dealers are also tasked with distributing winnings, collecting players’ money, and handling lots of cash and high-value chips.
Pit bosses are the managers of the casino floor. Each area of the casino floor, known as a pit with its own cash flow and security procedures, Pit bosses supervise all other floor employees, and report directly to casino management. The pit boss is also the manager of that business responsible for all gaming operations in the area where they’re assigned.
Slot Supervisor is a management position that puts a person in charge of the entirety of a casino’s slot collection. All slot attendants and other employees report to the supervisor, who’s also tasked with overseeing the maintenance of all slot machines.
Gaming Surveillance Officer
Gaming surveillance officers are more than just security guards, in that they tend to work mainly in casino observation rooms, and use advanced equipment. The main task of the Gaming surveillance officer is to patrol the casino floor electronically, and occasionally in-person. They also play a preventive role in many cases as a visual presence on the floor.
Generally, online gambling is not thought of as a job creation industry. It is not just the physical number of jobs you can count, it’s also jobs on the verge. The direct jobs of course, are very noteworthy but delving further in, the additional jobs are also essential for the way the online gambling industry is growing. Such jobs often go unreported and unnoticed, but they are there and they are allowing the employment industry to boom.
